Knee slider on the asphalt. Sparks at the edge of grip. Lean in. HyperLean is a realistic superbike racer set in a science-fiction future, and you ride it by tilting your phone. Hold it like a pair of handlebars: tilt it to lean the bike, tip it forward for throttle, pull it back to brake. Rather use your thumbs? An on-screen stick does the same job. The rest is physics.

IT RIDES LIKE A REAL SUPERBIKE

Your tires have one grip budget, and the brakes and the lean angle have to share it. Do the hard braking upright, then trail the brakes into the turn: cornering ABS stands the bike up a touch to keep you on the limit rather than over it. Feed the throttle in as the bike rises. Ask for too much and the front tucks or the rear steps out. Switch wheelie control off and a ham-fisted launch flips you over backward; switch ABS off and the stoppies are all yours. A crash is a real crash: rider and bike slide off their separate ways, and the clock keeps running.

SIXTEEN CIRCUITS, ONE TO THREE LAPS

Fast, technical and original, and every one teaches you something before it tests you: switchbacks on Mars, a clockwork city, a magnetic orbit, a ring road across a gas giant's ice rings, a greenhouse where the asphalt turns wet mid-lap, a coast road with a stop from over 300 km/h, a viaduct twisted into a Möbius loop, a glowing "green hell" of blind crests, and a black hole's photon ring, banked at 75° and taken flat out. The finale is the HyperLean Grand Prix, at night, in a city of light. Curbs rumble through your hands, gravel traps punish every mistake, and a lap ridden beyond the track limits doesn't count.

FIVE ENGINES, FIVE CHARACTERS

• Crossplane R4 – the benchmark, with that deep, uneven growl.
• Flatplane R4 – a smooth, rising wail, gentle on the throttle and forgiving at the limit.
• Twin V90 – a hard V-twin bark, the fiercest launch and the quickest change of direction, with a rear that bites back if you rush the throttle.
• Triple T3 – the highest top speed (355 km/h) and a raspy howl.
• Electron Overload – the electric monster that can go from 0 to 300 km/h in under 10 seconds.

ELECTRONICS, YOUR WAY

Traction control, wheelie control, slide control, ABS (standard or cornering) and engine braking, each adjustable, with Road, Track, Race and Pro presets. Dial them in between races. Switch every aid off and your times carry the Pro badge.

TIME IS THE ONLY JUDGE

Sector splits, best laps, bronze, silver, gold and platinum medals, and your ghost – your own best race – to duel lap after lap. Whenever you choose, publish your times to the online leaderboards: race and best-lap boards for every circuit, the championship standings, the Top 100 or the riders around you, worldwide or just your country. Every race is re-simulated on the server, bike and electronics included, before it counts – so every time on the board was really ridden. Tap a record on a race or lap board to watch the whole race, or Challenge this record and take it on as your ghost.

EVERY RACE, LIKE ON TV

Cross the line and watch it again as a broadcast: the race is rebuilt from your own inputs, and a director cuts between trackside TV cameras as you come past. Or pick the helicopter, chase, onboard or tail cam. Pause, drop into slow motion, run it at ×2, scrub back to that perfect braking point. Then open photo mode from the replay or the pause menu: swing the camera around the bike, set field of view, tilt, exposure and motion blur for a true panning shot, pick a filter, and take the photo.
